Our Regular FREE services and activities –


Free Legal Advice Service Visiting qualified solicitors provide one-off advice and information on issues such as Family law, wills etc.

No Interest Loans

Did you know ‘no interest loans’ are available for brand new essential goods to low income families throughout the Newcastle Hunter region?
Dealing with a Hunter Region No Interest Loan Service (HRNILS) is free and confidential. An information pack is available at reception or you can contact us on 4950 5108 for more information.

Justice of the Peace available most days

Do you need a Justice of the Peace? A JP is available Monday to Thursday       from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm. We regret a JP is not available on Fridays

Lifeboat Free Food Packages
Each Thursday at 2.00 pm Lifeboat volunteers provide food packages for those in need. Just bring your Healthcare or Pension card.

Free Playgroup

Come & enjoy the fun at our FREE Playgroup - songs, games, art and craft.

Just bring a piece of fruit to share for morning tea. Held on Thursdays during

school term, for you and your children under 5 years

Free ‘Staying Home, Leaving Violence’ workshops
“Relationships and You....Moving on from Unhealthy Relationships”.
These workshops will be presented by Eastlakes Family Support Service Inc. as part of their program and begin on Tuesday 21st July ’15
for 8 weeks, running from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm
Topics will include:
v  Identifying Domestic Violence
v  Concepts of Power and Control
v  Healthy and Unhealthy Relationships
v  How to set Healthy Boundaries
v  How to look after yourself
v  Impact of Domestic Violence on children

Morning Tea and Child Minding will be provided.

Learning and keeping fit for a few dollars…

Computer & Internet Training for the Over 50’s!

Beginners can learn the basics of Computers, accessing the internet and

sending emails. Learn at your own pace as part of the Broadband for Seniors

training which is provided by volunteers. Payment by gold coin donation;

each week during school term on Tuesdays.

Advanced courses are available, also, which incur a fee of approximately

$36.00 for 7 weeks training (Mondays).

You are welcome to use one of our laptop computers of bring your own.

Tai Chi/Qigong classes
Tai Chi classes are held on Tuesdays during term 3 from 8.00am to 9.00 am
Only $5.00 per class – our instructor is a qualified AATC instructor and beginners are most welcome.

We provide a FREE confidential & professional counselling service for adolescents and families. Our Adolescent & Family Counsellor (AFC)   provides a safe environment for young people aged 12 to 18 years and their families when -
There is conflict at home
There are issues with friends, family, school or work
Issues cause unhappiness, fear or anger

*Financial Counselling Service
This is a free service to assist people experiencing financial problems.
Trained financial counsellors will provide assistance, support & information
for your situation.

This is a free service; private & confidential. Specially trained staff help you find your way out of gambling related difficulties. We provide support, advice & encouragement

Hire a large room or office at the centre.
Our activity rooms are suitable for- workshops, meetings and activities for up to 40 people (seated) or up to 60 people for a function. We have Office space suitable for one-on-one counselling sessions or private meetings.

Our Computer Training Room is suitable for- up to 12 people (meeting or training) or up to 10 people (computer training using laptops)
